For Zendaya, red carpet fashion is so much more than just a dress. It's a means of sending a message, and it all starts with her longtime stylist, friend and "image architect," Law Roach.
Roach has been styling Zendaya since her early days of fame on Disney Channel, from Met Galas to her memorable "method dressing" Dune and Challengers press tours. Roach first styled Zendaya 15 years ago, when she attended the premiere of the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never documentary at just 14, and built her into the singular red carpet style icon she has become today.
While these days, Zendaya has her pick of anything she could want — and quite a few totally custom looks as well — she's been working with Roach since certain fashion houses wouldn't consider lending to her, and as he said in 2024, you still haven't seen her wear those designers to this day. And, he added, she's just as protective of him: “She was always the one advocating for me and making sure I was in these rooms that people thought I didn't belong in. ... It was like those small, little things that always when someone would try to take the power, she would hand it right back to me.”

When Roach shocked the world by announcing his retirement in 2023, many worried he was done styling Zendaya. He took to X to clarify: "So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z….. we are forever!" he wrote.
They're so close, Roach even leaked the news of Zendaya's wedding to Tom Holland earlier in 2026. “The wedding already happened. You missed it,” Roach told Access Hollywood. “It’s true!” (C'mon—no sneak peek of the wedding dress, Law?)
Their success together building Zendaya's red carpet brand has led Roach him to call himself an "image architect," focusing on styling the whole person and crafting Zendaya's persona through her show-stopping looks. Read on for some of their most memorable red carpet moments.

Roach watched his budding star spread her wings in this Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott for the Australian premiere of The Greatest Showman in 2017. Zendaya's yellow eyeshadow mirrored the brilliant colors in the gown, and the high leg slit kept the whole look chic rather than costume-y.

Roach must have had love for his bestie on the brain with this romantic gown and red lip for the 2019 Vanity Fair and Lancôme Toast Women In Hollywood event. Crafted by French designer Alexis Mabille, the dress featured a sheer skirt and a big bow on the bodice

It's hard to pick just one Zendaya Met Gala look for this list — they're all pretty amazing — but this one was noteworthy for how the duo worked together to create Met Gala magic. Roach was truly a fairy godstylist at the 2019 event, where he dressed Zendaya in a light-up custom Tommy Hilfiger gown inspired by Cinderella and joined her in bibbidi-bobbidi-blue to magically "turn on" the gown's electrical panels with a wand that wafted smoke (top photo). The theme of the evening was "Camp," and the two embraced it, even leaving a "glass slipper" behind on the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps.
But far from just being a very memorable red carpet moment, there was a lot of thought behind the design, Roach told Vogue: “It’s almost like this is the last hoorah and the last time people will identify her as a Disney princess—which isn’t a bad thing.”

Roach chose a custom Balmain leather gown that was meticulously crafted to look as if she had stepped out of the water at the Dune premiere at the 2021 Venice Film Festival (with wet-look hair and dewy skin to match). Her serpent-inspired Bulgari jewelry offered some glam contrast to the sexy gown, consisting of necklace featuring 93 carats of diamonds and emeralds, paired with an emerald ring and diamond earrings.

Roach took inspiration from Dune's sci-fi aesthetic for Zendaya's chic, sequined Rick Owens gown at the London premiere of the film in 2021. Her slicked-back hair added to the futuristic theme, and Roach completed the look with Bulgari serpent-inspired jewelry.

Zendaya received the Fashion Icon Award at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards, and this Vera Wang look tells us exactly why. The bright red bandeau top and peplum maxi skirt were striking and something pretty much only Zendaya could pull off — and the long braids and showstopping diamonds were perfectly chic finishing touches.

And of course, Roach was by her side for the award, which recognized all his hard work as well. In 2022, he'd be honored on his own as the first-ever Stylist Award recipient.

Zendaya channeled her spidey senses with this on-theme Valentino gown at the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in 2021. The plunging neckline and high slit made the look sexy yet elegant. It's no wonder Tom Holland stopped his own interview to watch his love arrive on the carpet.

Zendaya was suited up for the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in this Sportmax power suit with pointed sleeves. Always one to push fashion boundaries, Law Roach thought outside the box here and it sure paid off. The bright purple undershirt, cinched waist and Bulgari jewelry added a feminine touch to the androgynous look.

One of their most innovative looks as a styling pair, Zendaya and Roach's bionic suit for the 2024 Dune: Part Two world premiere was from a galaxy of its own. The cyborg suit was from Thierry Mugler’s fall/winter 1995 couture collection. The silver panels and plexiglass inserts made the yet sexy yet other-planetary, and the corset fit Zendaya like a glove. Roach joined her in a cloak-like ensemble and sunglasses, adding to the galactic vibe.

Roach rocked his own fashion-forward ensemble at the Louis Vuitton 2027 Cruise Collection Show with a leather jacket and handbag by the brand. He styled Zendaya in a sleek, grey-silver mini dress, meant to reference “the essence" of 1960s socialite Edie Sedgwick, paired with a chic pixie cut.
