- *Wreck-It Ralph* star Alan Tudyk revealed a cut “race riot” joke appeared in only one screening of the Disney animated film.

- “It got crickets,” the longtime voice actor and soon-to-be Disney Legend revealed Saturday at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

- Animator Eric Goldberg divulged that another cut joke involved referencing passing “through someone’s colon.”

*Wreck-It Ralph* was nearly a little edgier than your typical Disney movie fare, longtime studio voice actor Alan Tudyk and animator Eric Goldberg revealed Saturday at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

The pair appeared together on stage alongside moderator Robin Roberts and two other Disney Legends — Imagineer Kim Irvine and *Hercules* voice actress Susan Egan — for a conversation in Anaheim, Calif., ahead of Sunday’s formal ceremony where the full 2026 class of Disney Legends will be honored for their contributions to the company.

Tudyk recalled that a nixed joke from the movie initially saw his character, King Candy, make a risky comment about the film’s central *Sugar Rush* game race.

“I have a story. It’s edgy. But, we did it! It happened. There was a joke that Rich Moore, who directed *Wreck-It Ralph*... it actually appeared at only one showing,” Tudyk recalled. “It’s when Ralph comes out of the taffy swamp and he’s covered, he looks like a monster.”

Tudyk said that Ralph upended all the stands, which led to King Candy “running around screaming” in the chaos.

“King Candy is saying, ‘Stop it! Stop it! Everyone, please, calm down. I don’t want a race riot on my hands. It’s a race. And you’re riot. Never mind,’” Tudyk recalled. “It was in one [screening]. In Arizona, they showed it at a screening, and it got crickets. God bless Rich Moore for being like, this is going to work, this is good. Nope, that did not work. We’re pulling it out.”

Goldberg, who worked on the project as well, referenced another scene that saw King Candy “excreted out and swallowed again” by fantastical creatures in the movie. “At the end of the film, King Candy comes back looking like he’s had a *My Little Pony* makeover,” Goldberg recalled. “They said, ‘What happened to you?’ And he said, ‘Well, when you pass through someone’s colon several times a day, it changes the person.”

Elsewhere at D23, Disney unveiled Friday night a series of first-look imagery from its highly anticipated upcoming titles, including Frozen 3, which will follow Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) as they encounter a mysterious new villain that threatens their standing in Arendelle.

Tudyk and Goldberg are among this year’s Disney Legends honorees, including other actors, theme park creatives, musicians, and businesspeople who’ve greatly impacted both Disney culture and pop culture at large through their work with the company.

Among those set to be honored at the main Honda Center celebration is Anne Hathaway, the Oscar-winning actress whose *Princess Diaries* films and *The Devil Wears Prada 2* were great financial successes for Disney and distributor 20th Century Studios.

Dwayne Johnson, who has made multiple movies with Disney, will also receive Disney Legend status at D23. In addition to a string of one-off Disney films like *The Game Plan, Race to Witch Mountain, *and the Disney parks-inspired *Jungle Cruise* adaptation,* *Johnson portrayed fan-favorite character Maui in both *Moana* animated movies and the 2026 live-action remake.

*Camp Rock* actor-musicians and former Disney-owned Hollywood Records label artists the Jonas Brothers similarly reached Disney Legend level in 2026. The trio — Joe, Kevin, and Nick Jonas — worked with the Disney Channel on its popular *Camp Rock* franchise entries in 2008, 2010, and again in 2026, when they reteamed with fellow series alum Demi Lovato for a third installment.

Ryan Seacrest was previously announced as the host of this year’s Disney Legends ceremony, thanks to his contributions as the longtime host of ABC’s *American Idol*, as well as the former cohost of the Disney-owned station’s syndicated *Live With Kelly and Mark* (formerly *Live With Kelly and Ryan*). Seacrest’s participation comes two years after his former daytime colleague Kelly Ripa was inducted as a Disney Legend.

Irvine, who appeared Saturday alongside Tudyk and Goldberg, is a recently retired Walt Disney Imagineering staple whose mother, Leota Toombs, served as the model for the iconic Madame Leota character who appears inside the Haunted Mansion rides at Disney parks around the world.

Other prominent entertainment industry Disney Legends set for 2026 honors include *Moana* songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and *Pirates of the Caribbean* producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Former Disney CEO Bob Iger and sports broadcaster Chris Berman are among this year’s Disney Legends inductees as well, with both set to appear at Sunday’s event.

The full Disney Legends induction ceremony begins Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT.
