Woman Stuns Boyfriend with Surprise Wedding at Bruno Mars Concert in Just 2 Days

A couple got married before a Bruno Mars concert on April 18, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, after winning a radio contest

Kim Grimaldo entered the contest without telling her then-boyfriend, Javier, and told him on-air that they won two days before the wedding

The outdoor ceremony featured a red carpet, candles and the couple's family, creating a romantic moment before the sold-out show

A man had no idea he was getting married at a Bruno Mars concert until two days beforehand.

During Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth's Monday, April 20 segment of The Ten, hosts Steve Noviello and Paige Ellenberger talked to The New Mix 102.9's Billy the Kidd about the recent wedding he officiated at Mars' The Romantic Tour concert on Saturday, April 18, in Arlington, Texas.

"It was super random, so the Bruno Mars [concert] was sold out, and I was like, 'You know what? How about we give away a pair of tickets?' " Billy the Kidd said. "It's a romantic tour, with some couple who's in love. Let's make it happen and do that. And if you want to get married at the concert, then we'll do it."

The iHeartRadio host thought that there would be zero entries " 'Cause who's crazy enough to do that?" he mused. However, he said there ended up being "hundreds."

After the team reviewed all of the applications, which detailed the couples' love stories, they chose a woman named Kim Grimaldo as their "Bruno Bride." However, Grimaldo hadn't told her then-boyfriend, Javier, that she had applied. The pair were not even engaged yet.

"I get her on the air, and I said, 'Okay, Kim, we picked you,' and she goes, 'I'm so excited, I can't — well, I better tell him first,' " Billy the Kidd recalled.

Grimaldo called Javier at work to surprise him on Thursday, April 16 — just two days before the concert.

"I basically entered us into this contest to potentially get married before the Bruno Mars concert. Would you still be down to get married?" Grimaldo asked Javier on the Billy the Kidd in the Morning show.

Billy the Kidd chimed in, "She's literally proposing to you right now." After Javier asked "Is this for real?" the radio host continued, "I swear this is not a joke, we will marry you at the concert, and then you will go to the show. But this is upon you going, 'Yes, Kim, I will marry you.' "

Javier's answer? "Yes, dude!"

"Six months into our relationship, I was like, 'I'm sure I'm going to marry this girl,' " he said before directly addressing Grimaldo, sharing, "I hope we have many years to come. I want to grow old with you, and I want to travel the world with you."

The ceremony was set up outside the Globe Life Field stadium before the concert started. The couple matched in red, an on-theme choice for the concert, and said "I do" on a red carpet lined with candles in front of a white backdrop featuring a giant heart.

"They had their whole family out there," Billy the Kidd said. "Honestly, I thought this is going to be silly, and it turned out to be really sweet and romantic."

Grimaldo did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
