Mia Goth filed for divorce from estranged husband Shia LaBeouf on October 6, 2026.
Their date of separation was listed as July 28, 2025, according to People.
Goth and LaBeouf, who share a 4-year-old daughter, have been romantically linked on and off since 2012.
Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf’s relationship is no more.
Goth filed for divorce from her estranged husband on October 6, over a year after they separated. People confirmed the news on October 7, noting that Goth listed their date of separation as July 28, 2025. She asked for primary legal and physical custody of the 4-year-old daughter she shares with the actor. The Pearl star also requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to either her or LaBeouf.
Their on-and-off romance began when they met on the set of 2012’s Nymphomaniac: Vol. II. They married in 2016, holding a Las Vegas commitment ceremony, and legally formalized their marriage later on.
In 2022, they welcomed a daughter. The same year, LaBeouf said Goth “saved” his life in an appearance on Jon Bernthal’s REAL ONES podcast. “She was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her,” he told Bernthal.
News of their divorce comes on the heels of LaBeouf’s series of arrests in New Orleans in February 2026. In June, the actor pleaded guilty to three counts of simple battery, The reported. He was sentenced to “two years’ probation, rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, sensitivity training and anger management classes,” according to The Guardian.
A September 2026 i-Dcover story on Goth referred to LaBeouf as her “ex-husband.” While she is historically private about her relationships, the Infinity Pool actress did tell the outlet how her and LaBeouf’s daughter impacts the roles she chooses. “I have to be able to justify being away from my daughter for that many hours a day. And you only can if what you’re making is meaningful,” she said.

When People broke the news of LaBeouf and Goth’s separation in February, a source told the outlet, “Their relationship has always been complicated. They weren’t getting along and had a lot of drama last year.”
They added that Goth had “encouraged” LaBeouf to move out of their Los Angeles home. He relocated to New Orleans. “She loves him, but she also doesn’t need him,” the insider claimed of the Frankenstein actress. “She’s very independent. She has her own life, her own career and her priority is their daughter.” They added, “Shia loves their daughter and stays in touch.”
In early 2026, LaBeouf said there was ‘nothing’ to repair in his relationship with Goth.

In his first interview since news of their separation became public, LaBeouf said he and his ex had no bad blood with each other. Appearing on the YouTube seriesChannel 5 with Andrew Calleghan, the Honey Boy star said there was “nothing” to repair in his and Goth’s relationship. “We’re good as is. We’re in a good spot,” he explained. “I mean, this [separation] isn’t new. It’s new for you guys but we’ve been there for a while. And we’re trying to figure out co-parenting, and we’re good.”
In the same interview, he called Goth a “good woman” and said he still talked to their daughter “twice a day.”
They previously made a divorce announcement in 2018.

In 2018, a representative for LaBeouf told People, “Shia and Mia have filed for divorce. The separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private.” They seemingly never finalized the divorce proceedings and remained legally married.
This breakup announcement came shortly after LaBeouf was photographed leaving co-star FKA twigs’s home in London. He and FKA twigs dated for over a year, with the singer later filing a lawsuit against him accusing him of “relentless abuse,” per People.
A year after his and twigs’s split, in April 2020, the Megalopolis star sparked reconciliation rumors with Goth as they were photographed wearing their wedding bands.
