Super Bowl 60 is set to be a historic one for Latinos.
Puerto Rican reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny will take the stage at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8 as this year's Super Bowl 60 halftime show performer. He will hold the distinction of being the first male Latin artist to headline "The Big Game." It's worth noting this won't be his first time on the Super Bowl stage as he made a guest appearance during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's set in 2020.
"What I’m feeling goes beyond myself," Bad Bunny said in a statement shortly after he was announced as the headliner in September. "It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history."

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny, is set to headline this year's Super Bowl halftime show. The Puerto Rican reggaetonero is one of the biggest superstars in the world and his 19.8 billion Spotify streams last year made him the platform's most streamed artist globally in 2025 for an unprecedented fourth time.
The three-time Grammy winner has four No. 1 albums, most recently 2025's "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" (I Should Have Taken More Photos) — which, along with its title track, helped Bad Bunny make history as the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated across all "big three" categories of album, record and song of the year. He's also branched out into acting, taking on roles in "Happy Gilmore 2" and "Caught Stealing."
Last summer, Benito held a historic 31-date residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico that reportedly boosted the local economy by "a minimum" of $176.6 million, with other studies estimating as much as $733 million. Bad Bunny embarked on his DBMTF World Tour on Nov. 21 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and will perform across 20 countries over nine months before concluding on July 22 in Brussels, Belgium.

The Super Bowl halftime show setlist is usually unknown to the public beforehand, so it's reasonable to expect that this year will be no different. However, there's a good chance Benito will perform songs from "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" such as the title track, "EoO" or "Baile Inolvidable." Classic Bad Bunny songs that you might hear in Santa Clara include "Callaita," "Chambea," "Dákiti," "La Santa," "Diles," "Monaco," or "Moscow Mule."
In 2020, Bad Bunny performed "I Like It Like That" and a mashup of "Callaita" with Shakira's "Chantaje."

What guests will Bad Bunny bring out?
Much like the setlist, Super Bowl guest performers are almost always a surprise. Throughout his residency and subsequent tour, Bad Bunny brought out a wide range of guests who could possibly accompany him on the Super Bowl stage in February, from his peers in the reggaeton scene like Feid, Ozuna, Jhayco and Eladio Carrión, to legendary artists such as Daddy Yankee, Ivy Queen, Arcángel and Marc Anthony.
There is however, one name you can cross off the list.
J Balvin — who performed alongside Bad Bunny at Super Bowl 54 — recently told TMZ that he'll be at the big game, but won't be on the stage this time around.
"I wish my boy can kill it and enjoy it," Balvin told TMZ. "I want him to take over the whole Super Bowl and show the world what Latinos are made of. But I'll be there definitely to support him."
J Balvin has collaborated on some of Bad Bunny's biggest hits, including the Cardi B-led single "I Like it Like That" and "La Canción," a heartbreaking ballad about reminiscing about an ex whenever he hears "their song" play. They began beefing shortly after their collab album, "Oasis" dropped in 2019, but amends were apparently made when the two reunited on stage during Bad Bunny's show in Mexico City last month.

A regular NFL halftime normally lasts 13 minutes, but a Super Bowl halftime lasts longer to accommodate for the show, setup and take-down, in addition to teams' on-field warmups.
Bad Bunny's selection sparked controversy
While the announcement of Bad Bunny was met with worldwide excitement, there was also some backlash. In an appearance on Newsmax, U.S. President Donald Trump called it "absolutely ridiculous, even though I've never heard of him."
Several of Trump's supporters criticized Bad Bunny — a Spanish-speaking Latino artist — as a "Trump hater" and "un-American," even though he is a born-United States citizen since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory.
Bad Bunny has been a vocal critic of the president; his 2024 single "Una Velita" contains the lyrics, "Fueron cinco mil que dejaron morir/Y eso nunca se nos va a olvidar," ("They let 5,000 people die/and we will never forget that,") referring to Trump's botched Hurricane Maria response in 2017, which hit Puerto Rico especially hard.
He also omitted the United States from his ongoing world tour due to concerns that ICE would target and harass his fans. Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem warned ICE would be "all over" the Super Bowl. As part of the Super Bowl announcement, Bad Bunny tweeted in Spanish that after "thinking these last few days, I think I'll do one date in the United States."

Both NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Jay-Z have stood by their selection, with Jay-Z saying in a statement, "What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him."
"He's one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world," Goodell told CBS Sports. "That's what we try to achieve… It's carefully thought through. I don't think we're ever selected an artist without some blowback or criticism."
Bad Bunny responded to the criticism by closing his "Saturday Night Live" monologue on Oct. 4 in Spanish.
"All the Latinos and Latinas around the world and here in the United States, all the people who have worked to open doors. It's more than my accomplishment, it's an accomplishment by all of us showing that our mark, our contributions in this country, nobody will ever be able to take away or erase."
"And if you didn't understand what I just said," Benito continued. "You have four months to learn."
