Celebrities are prepping their red carpet looks for Hollywood's biggest night.
The 98th Academy Awards (also known as the Oscars) will air on March 15, from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. But thankfully, fans can soak up all the glitz and glam from the comfort of their couches by tuning in live on ABC or Hulu.
Held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Oscars honor the year’s top films, performances and creative achievements across over 20 different categories. Members of the elite Hollywood organization vote within their respective discipline to choose the year’s top honorees.
But the Oscars aren’t just about the trophies. Though the 97th Academy Awards didn't feature any live performances, viewers can look forward to at least two numbers for this year's Best Original Song nominees, per The Hollywood Reporter.

When are the 2026 Oscars?

The 98th Academy Awards will be held at 7 p.m. ET on March 15. However, the official live red carpet show will begin a half hour earlier at 6:30 p.m. ET.
If fans are craving more time to enjoy the glitz and glamour of the night, they can tune in to E!'s red carpet coverage starting at 4 p.m. ET.
Who is hosting the 2026 Oscars?

For the second year in a row, Conan O'Brien will host the Academy Awards. The news was announced days after he emceed the 97th Academy Awards in March 2025, his first time ever serving as an Oscars host.
“The only reason I’m hosting the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech,” the comedian joked in a press release, referring to the actor's record-breaking five-minute-long acceptance speech after winning Best Actor that year.
"Conan was the perfect host," Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement. "Skillfully guiding us through the evening with humor, warmth and reverence."

Multiple celebrities have been announced as award presenters in the weeks leading up to the Oscars.

So far, the confirmed names include Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani and Maya Rudolph.
Last year's best and supporting actor and actress winners — Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison and Zoe Saldaña — will follow tradition and return to this year's ceremony to present the acting awards.
Who are the 2026 Oscar nominees?

Out of the 24 categories, a total of 20 actors and actresses were nominated for the 2026 Oscars. Those nominees include Michael B. Jordan, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke and Wagner Moura in the Best Actor category, and Jessie Buckley, Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, Renate Reinsve and Rose Byrne for Best Actress.
Meanwhile, Wunmi Mosaku, Elle Fanning, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Amy Madigan and Teyana Taylor make up the nominees in the Best Supporting Actress category, and Benicio del Toro, Jacob Elordi, Delroy Lindo, Sean Penn and Stellan Skarsgård are all nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
Chalamet made history as the youngest star with three Best Actor nominations since Marlon Brando in 1954. Meanwhile, Sinners also cemented its place in history with a whopping 16 nominations, making it the most nominated movie of all time.
A total of 10 films were nominated for Best Picture: Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners and Train Dreams.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 98th Academy Awards will feature two live performances from the Best Original Song nominees: "Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters and “I Lied to You” from Sinners. The former will be performed by HUNTR/X's Rei Ami, EJAE and Audrey Nuna, while the latter will be sung by Miles Caton.
The other three nominated tracks — Diane Warren’s “Dear Me” from Diane Warren: Relentless, “Sweet Dreams of Joy” by Nicholas Pike from Viva Verdi! and Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner’s “Train Dreams” from Train Dreams — will get custom-produced segments as their introductions.
In a letter sent to the 2026 Oscar music nominees, Oscar executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, and producer Taryn Hurd reportedly wrote that all of the contenders will be "treated with the same care, storytelling focus and intention as the other awards categories."
However, the producers said they chose only KPop Demon Hunters and Sinners for performances because the songs "have played a defining role in their global cultural impact and audience connection this year.”
