Volodymyr Zelensky touched down in Britain earlier today alongside his delegation, ahead of a packed schedule of high-level engagements. The Ukrainian president confirmed his arrival on X.

"Already in the UK together with my team," he wrote. "Today, I will have an audience with His Majesty King Charles III. There will also be an important meeting with Prime Minister Andy Burnham."

The royal audience and the session with the Prime Minister are set to dominate the day's programme.

Mr Zelensky indicated that the talks would centre on bolstering Ukraine's position, writing: "We are preparing decisions that will strengthen us."

A broad spectrum of security matters is expected to feature prominently in the day's discussions.

The visit is anticipated to yield fresh commitments from Britain regarding its backing for Ukraine, notably the supply of further missiles intended to neutralise drone threats.

Additional measures targeting Moscow are also on the cards, with new sanctions against Russia forming part of the expected package of announcements.

Mr Zelensky himself signalled the breadth of the agenda, writing on X: "We will discuss a wide range of security issues."
