If Timothy Olyphant's wife is secretly rooting against his new show *Alien: Earth* getting picked up for a second season, you can blame his eyebrows.

Olyphant's character on the sci-fi series, a robot (or "synthetic") named Kirsh, has a unique appearance that involves silver hair and silver eyebrows. The actor developed the look in a back-and-forth with his longtime collaborator Noah Hawley, the showrunner of *Alien: Earth* who also worked with Olyphant on the *Fargo* TV series.

"It was a little conversation between the two of us," Olyphant says during a cast and creator interview at **'s Comic-Con video studio. "I said, 'Hey, how about this?' and then he said, 'Hey, how about *that*?' and we went a little further."**

Hawley recalls, "I said, 'You'll have to do the eyebrows too,' and he said, 'My wife really doesn't want me to do the eyebrows.'" (Olyphant has been married to Alexis Knief, his college sweetheart, since 1991.)

"If she's rooting against a second season, that would be the only reason. That would be the reason," Olyphant says, to which Hawley then suggests scorching the eyebrows off for a potential season 2.

*Alien: Earth* is set in the year 2120, in a world where five mega-corporations govern the entire globe: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. The scientists at Prodigy, run by trillionaire wunderkind Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), have developed hybrids, which place human brains inside robot bodies. Wendy (Sydney Chandler) is one such hybrid, with the mind of a child and the body of an adult.

Kirsh is the android tasked with watching over the first generation of hybrids. "In the script it said, 'Kirsh, a dry, sassy synthetic, enters the room,'" Olyphant says. "And [he] wrote it in caps, in pink… That's what Noah wants, it's what I'll give him."
