*The View** *cohost, author, and former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin has revealed a medical condition impacting her voice.

Addressing fan feedback about the quality of her voice changing at the Hot Topics table in recent months, the 57-year-old has opened up about a throat issue she's grappled with for several months.

"Let me address my voice first, because people are noticing," she said on Monday's edition of *The View*'s companion podcast, *Behind the Table*. "I have some vocal cord nodules, apparently.... This started in December when I went away and was in a very arid place, very dry. I didn't drink enough water!"

Hostin's voice cracked as she explained further to host and *View *producer Brian Teta, "Apparently, this is something that happens to singers, people that talk for a living, which is what I do. I've always done it, actually, even as an attorney."

She added that she's "seen one doctor, who thought it was either surgery, a month or less of vocal rest, or maybe injections. I don't like those answers."

Hostin additionally consulted ChatGPT for advice, though she said the results were similar to what the doctor suggested.

The talk show host explained that she experiences relief when she rests her voice, which is a "good sign," though she's admittedly strained her vocal cords in recent days.

Hostin said that attending a weekend concert led to singing "badly, off-key," which made her voice "worse" Monday morning on *The View.*

She also found herself "chatting up a lot on Friday and Saturday" in attendance at an event tied to the opening of Martha Stewart's new restaurant, and then "screaming while watching Michael B. Jordan win on Sunday" at the Oscars.**

"I think I have a speaking engagement this weekend," Hostin told Teta, who advised her to rest up before returning to *The View*.

She said her husband, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Emmanuel Hostin, is setting her up with a second opinion, "so, hopefully ChatGPT MD is wrong and the first doctor is wrong." "And maybe there's a throat coat thing that I can use, a tea, that can get rid of it," Hostin added.

The vocal condition isn't the first injury Hostin has opened up about in recent years. She wore a wrist cast on the air in early 2024 after falling during an indoor skating class, and she described hearing "crunchiness" in her leg after she tore a hamstring while doing a split in 2023.

*The View* airs weekdays on ABC. Listen to Hostin discuss her medical condition in the podcast episode above.
