The live-action Moana dropped its first trailer on Monday, and people have thoughts… about Dwayne Johnson’s hair.

Moana, based on the 2016 animated film of the same name, tells the story of a young Polynesian girl who must cross the ocean to lift the curse plaguing her island. Actress Catherine Laga'aia takes over the role of the titular young, spirited adventurer from Auliʻi Cravalho, belting out the powerful “How Far I’ll Go” in the trailer.

Johnson, who played demigod Maui in the original film, reprises his role in the new version. In the trailer, he sports the same moving tattoos as the animated character and can transform into sea creatures. But some fans can’t help but comment on Johnson’s long, brown locks — a stark contrast to the shaved head the Fast & Furious star rocks in real life.

In the YouTube trailer's comments section, fans couldn't get over the new look.

“The Rock with curly hair is sending me,” one wrote alongside a laughing emoji. Another joked, “Looks like an Old Spice commercial.” A third likened his hairstyle to the one he had in the 2002 spin-off of The Mummy, the action-thriller The Scorpion King.

“Do you know why this is Rock Johnson's best role?” one commenter asked. “Because instead of being bald, he has long, shoulder-length hair.”

Johnson spoke about how transforming into Maui was not an easy process.

"The thing that became a challenge, that I had to work through very quickly, that I didn't anticipate was the prosthetics and the hair and then the body. That is an additional 40 pounds on you," Johnson said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "There's a freedom when you perform, whether it's as an actor or singing. So that was an adjustment on how to actually work my emotions through the 40 pounds of prosthetics and hair and body that I had on me."

Moana hits theaters July 10.
