Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols’ family just got bigger

The couple, who got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in a small ceremony in March 2021, welcomed their fifth baby together

The new addition joins The Challenge alums’ four older children: Francesca Rose, 11 months, Carmella Jean, 2, Liliana Marie, 3, and Anthony Joseph, 4

Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols’ family just got a little bigger!

The Challenge stars welcomed their fifth baby, son Vincent John Nichols, on Sunday, Aug. 2, sharing the exciting news exclusively with PEOPLE. The new addition, who arrived two weeks ahead of his due date, entered the world at 7 lbs., 4 oz. and measured 21 inches long.

“I am going to be completely honest, adding a child after three kids doesn’t make a difference anymore,” she says about a new little one joining the family. “It’s pure chaos, but the best kind.”

Compono, 33, shares that she and Nichols, 38, welcomed their baby boy two weeks ahead of schedule as it was “medically necessary.”

“There wasn’t enough fluid in there, and he already had the cord wrapped around his neck,” Compono explains. “The doctors didn’t want to take any chances.”

“I thought I was going in for a checkup because I was so crampy, and then they told me, ‘Nope, Jenna, you are staying and getting induced,’ ” she shares. “I really was not ready at all, but life throws things at you, and you just have to roll with it. I’m glad Vincent’s healthy, and now we get to enjoy him two weeks earlier.”

The new parents tell PEOPLE that the newborn’s middle name carries a special nod to their family. The doting mom explains that Vincent’s middle name, John, follows the previous trend with their other kids.

“The middle names of all our kids relate to someone in our family,” she says. “For example, Carmella’s middle name is Jean after Zach’s grandmother. I always loved the name Vincent, and John is my father’s name.”

The reality TV stars are also parents to four other children: Francesca Rose, 11 months, Carmella Jean, 2, Liliana Marie, 3, and Anthony Joseph, 4. Compono shares that her kids were all “so helpful” when she brought home Vincent, adding they “love” the new addition.

“They love having a new sibling, although they still think another one is in my stomach,” she admits. “Everyone is so helpful (for the first week at least).”

“But they are all so close in age, I’m just happy they all get along and get excited when we bring home a new baby,” she adds.
