Shawn Booth is sharing an update on where things stand with Nick Viall after they appeared as contestants on The Bachelorette in 2015
Booth said that while their feud was "real," things have since changed
"He's doing something right to keep that podcast going strong," Booth said of The Viall Files
Shawn Booth has no ill will toward Nick Viall despite their onscreen differences.
The former Bachelorette contestant, 38, opened up about his past rift with Viall and explained that he doesn't consider him an enemy "anymore."
"We were. That was real," Booth said during the Saturday, April 2 episode of the Tomi Lahren Is Fearless podcast. "It was also very exaggerated, but it was real on the show."

Viall, 45, and Booth both appeared on season 11 of The Bachelorette in 2015, with Booth ultimately ending the show engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe. The pair broke things off in 2018. Reflecting on the nature of his relationship with Viall, Booth explained that "once you get off the show... you can't tell what is real and what's not real."

"I thought that I was being the hero who stole the girl from this evil guy," Booth said. "Every time I turn the corner, this producer is talking negatively about Nick. I go to the airport, people are like, 'You really gotta make sure, you're gonna be Captain America and he's so bad.' It's like everywhere you turn. You don't know what's up and what's down."
"Looking back on it, it was definitely a lot more exaggerated than what it was. But it was a real beef on the show. I was trying to 'protect my girl' at the time," he added, using air quotes. "I didn't think he was there for the 'right reasons.' "
After his Bachelorette stint in 2015, Booth told PEOPLE that he and runner-up Viall were "different people," although he didn't feel Viall’s intentions on the show were honorable. At the time, he accused Viall of saying things about him that "he would never be man enough to come to my face and say." For his part, Viall — now host of The Viall Files — called the drama "unfortunate and frustrating" and said he and Booth looked "immature" and "petty." The two wished each other the best.
Speaking about Viall's podcast career during his latest interview, Booth credited Viall with being "able to keep his name out there" and called him a "businessman."
"He's doing something right to keep that podcast going strong," Booth said. "I'm sure he's got a ton of views and to tie that into the Bachelor franchise that he's very well tied into, I can't knock it."
