Shania Twain has opened up about her unexpected absence from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, revealing she had a prior engagement with one of the pop star's well-known former flames.
The Grammy Award winner, 36, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, also 36, exchanged vows in a ceremony held at New York's Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, with 1,000 guests in attendance.
Since the nuptials first sparked curiosity over their chosen date, details have continued to trickle out, including one particular move that was deemed 'crazy," with celebrities who missed the high-profile event now coming forward to explain their absence.

Country icon Shania Twain is among them.
Although the Canadian star did receive an invitation, a prior commitment to none other than Harry Styles prevented her from making it, reports the Express US.
In a conversation with CTV's etalk, the That Don't Impress Me Much singer attributed her no-show to her existing obligations to Styles' Together, Together tour.
Revealing that she would happily sing at Styles' upcoming wedding to Zoë Kravitz "if she was available," she explained why she ultimately had to decline Swift's invitation.

"Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding and I couldn't go because I was already committed to Harry's shows," she said. "So that's why I say that, cause it's just kind of funny that that happened that way. I was already committed.
"I mean, I would have done anything to be at Taylor's wedding. I would have done anything, and that would have been really lovely for me to be there. But I was with Harry."
Twain served as the opening act for Styles' residency at London's Wembley Stadium, which wrapped up on July 4.
Styles had also received an invitation to the wedding, along with Kravitz, who counts Swift among her closest friends. Kravitz attended the ceremony without her fiancé by her side.

Swift and Styles had a brief romance between 2012 and 2013.
Twain wasn't the only star to admit they had to turn down their invite to the celebration. Ryan Seacrest disclosed on his radio show last week that he had initially RSVP'd yes, but was forced to change his answer after Disney tapped him to host their Fourth of July 250 special, which aired across both July 3rd and 4th.
James Taylor also passed on the event to perform at the Tanglewood Music Festival, an annual tradition he has upheld for the past 52 years.
Despite their absences, an impressive roster of A-list celebrities showed up to celebrate the newlyweds.
Among the guests were some unexpected faces, including Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, SNL's Marcello Hernandez and Bowen Yang, Jason Sudeikis, Fergie, and Joey King.
