Rory McIlroy made a major fashion statement at Wimbledon.
The Northern Irishman took his wife, Erica, to watch some tennis at Wimbledon on Wednesday and was dressed to kill. It's become almost a sport in itself for celebrities to dress for the occasion, their outfits judged as if going to the Kentucky Derby or walking the red carpet at the Oscars. Well, McIlroy wins 9 and 8, and it's really not even that close after he showed up sporting the Green Jacket for his day at the Royal Box.
McIlroy successfully defended his title at Augusta National Golf Club in April and thus is allowed to wear the prized possession awarded to the winner of the Masters for another year off property.
McIlroy, 37, moved his residency from Florida to London last year so his daughter Poppy could go to school there. He returned to England from the U.S. two weeks ago and last week was spotted practicing at Royal Birkdale on the Lancashire Coast for the upcoming 154th British Open. This week, McIlroy enjoyed the tennis at Wimbledon, something that has become a rite of passage for men's professional golfers when they head across the pond for the Scottish Open or in advance of the British Open. The Wimbledon fortnight runs through the final round of the Scottish.

It was a European Ryder Cup team gathering of sorts with captain Luke Donald, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and vice captains Thomas Bjorn and Eduardo Molinari joining McIlroy among the golfers dressed for the occasion. But as TW Legion so perfectly put it, "major flex" by McIlroy.
