Priscilla Presley is introducing a new — furry — member of her family!
The 81-year-old businesswoman and ex-wife of the late Elvis Presley revealed on Tuesday, Oct. 13, that she has adopted a new pet, a senior dog named Toby. She shared a video of herself with the fluffy, white “rescue” on Instagram and explained how the “sweet little lover” came into her life.
“This is Toby. He’s a rescue,” Priscilla began in the sit-down video, rubbing Toby’s ears as he sat perched in her lap. “He was on the streets, and somebody told me about him, and this person knows that I’m an animal lover and a dog lover, so she told me about Toby here.”
The Elvis and Me author — whose late ex-husband was also a known animal lover — not only shared where Toby came from, but also how he’s adjusting to life with her.
Priscilla told her Instagram followers that Toby “sleeps with me” and that “everyone loves him.” “He is adjusted. He is a gem. He has been so good,” she said of the canine. “He’s so loving and listens, and you know we have a lot of patience.”
The longtime animal rights advocate also explained that Toby’s adjustment is especially impressive because he is already a senior dog who wasn’t well cared for before she took him in.
“We had a lot of patience with him because he is a rescue and he was rescued from the street, and he is 10 years old — which he doesn’t act like a 10-year-old,” she said of the pup calmly sitting in her lap.
Priscilla said Toby’s healthy appearance in his introductory video is a far cry from his condition when she first met him.

“As you see him now, he was not like this,” she explained. “He was not taken care of. He was starving. And I could not believe… I don’t know how this dog got there. I don’t know if he ran away or not. I don’t know the background.”
“All I know is I’m able to take care of him,” she continued, “and that he’s turned out to be the best little friend and dog.”

Toby has also been getting along well with Priscilla’s other dog— another senior rescue named Boz.
“And I have another dog right over there sleeping,” she said, referring to 15-year-old Boz, in Tuesday’s video. Boz and Toby “get along great,” she told her followers — but added that she doesn’t know why.
“It just happens,” she said of the bond between her senior dogs. “I don’t know how because usually you get a little fearful when you already have a dog, and my other dog here just accepted him very much and vice versa.”
Priscilla often keeps her followers on her pets. She featured her “joy,” Boz, in an Instagram video in December 2025.

In the video, she said she rescued Boz as a puppy after reading a “plea to save him” in the paper— and traveled from her home in California to Arizona to pick him up because he’s a “special dog.”
Priscilla’s dog, Ridley, was also featured in the video late last year but died months later. Priscilla announced his death in April with a slideshow of photos and a tribute message on Instagram.

“I rescued you many years ago when you were in need, and you were always there for me in mine,” she wrote about Ridley then. “I will miss you, shadowing every step I take. Thank you for filling my life with love. You will be deeply missed, my sweet Ridley.”
