The Powerball jackpot is up to $35 million, with a $16.2 million cash option, ahead of the lottery drawing on Saturday March 7, just days after a $251 million winning ticket was sold in Arkansas.
Since the lottery began in 1992, the Powerball jackpot has been hit nearly 200 times, according to Powerball. The game is played in 45 states, with Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin among the states with the most winners.
With the next drawing just hours away, players will soon find out whether there is another jackpot winner.

How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are available at authorized retailers such as convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. In some states, tickets can also be purchased online, depending on local laws.
To play, select five white balls numbered 1 to 69 and one red Powerball numbered 1 to 26. Players can add Power Play for $1, which multiplies non‑jackpot winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X.
You can also choose Quick Pick, which lets the computer select the numbers. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.
Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights. If no one wins the jackpot, the prize continues to grow.
