New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre is commemorating two years of clean living.

The musician took to Instagram on Friday to share the milestone, speaking to his audience as he walked outside. "Two years sober today. When I say sober, I say it's been two years since I had a Manhattan on the rocks or a vodka soda. Can you believe it?" McIntyre said in his video.

"Two years. It's possible, folks. If you're thinking, 'I could never do that. It won't be fun. I'll never laugh again.' It's not true," McIntyre continued. "Is my life perfect? No. Is it better? Yes."

In the caption for his post, McIntyre also wrote, "#Sober #goodtimes (been clean and sober for two years - save a hit on a vape pen about a year and a half ago. I honor both dates cuz they are both important to me)."

McIntyre, who is married to Barrett Williams and has three children, has opened up about his sobriety journey in the past. Speaking with Get Out! in October 2024, McIntyre was asked if he could recall a moment that changed the trajectory of his life. Initially, he recalled that auditioning for New Kids on the Block was a pivotal moment, as he was just 12.

"I will say, though, and I’m giving you a scoop here: I’ve been clean and sober for seven months now," McIntyre revealed. "It is something I always wanted to give a shot. I was surprised at what it has given me, as far as bandwidth and options. It’s been quite a change, frankly. It doesn’t make it easy. Anything that’s worthwhile is not easy. That has been a big change."

Last year, McIntyre shared on social media that he had not had alcohol in a year. "It's something I always wanted to do. And I finally, through the grace of God, gave it a shot," McIntyre said.

McIntyre added how, when he was first considering sobriety, his algorithm kept showing him people discussing their own sobriety journeys. "So maybe this will be in your algorithm for a reason," McIntyre said to those who might come across his social post.

He noted that he was motivated to pursue sobriety for "spiritual reasons" more so than physical, and in the year that he has not drank alcohol, the singer said, "My bandwidth has exploded, and I am so much more available for things, and I am feeling a ton of space around everything I do."

Comments on McIntyre's two-year celebratory post included Candace Cameron Bure offering supportive applause emojis and Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean, who has been on his own sobriety journey, sharing a supportive message.

"Welcome to the club, my friend," McLean wrote. "It’s the best club to be a part of and I’m extremely proud of you. Keep it up buddy one day at a time."
