Meghan Markle earns Emmy nomination for Netflix show but critics blast it as 'terrible'

Royal fans voiced their opinions after Meghan Markle received her first Daytime Emmy nomination for her Netflix series.

The debut season of With Love, Meghan premiered on Netflix in 2025 and aligned with the launch of her lifestyle brand As Ever, with her initial products frequently featured throughout the program.

The series earned a nomination in the outstanding lifestyle program category and will face competition from NBC's George to the Rescue, Hallmark's The Motherhood, The Wizard of Paws and A Different Breed. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 30.

However, some viewers criticized the nomination, calling the show a "boring slog." One user posted on X, "Tell me without telling me that there are almost zero shows to compete in this category.

"'With Love, Meghan' was the antithesis of entertainment. It was an abysmal, boring slog at best and getting through one episode was painful."

Another agreed, "I had the same thought. The nomination sounds more impressive until you look at what it's actually competing against. My vote is for Wizard of Paws just because the name is cool!"

A third person criticized, "This is absurd! ! That show was bad." A fourth commenter weighed in, adding, "Yikes! It was terrible! The second one was even worse. The only one that was halfway (and I'm being generous) decent was the Christmas one. A couple of the ideas were good."

Elsewhere, a fifth person blasted, "This is hysterical!!!! I wouldn't line a birdcage with this nonsensical whatever!"

Another person shared, "OMG that show was SO boring & pointless. I tried I really did I love cooking, lifestyle shows, thought it can't b THAT bad....it was worse."

Throughout its two-season run, Meghan's program included guest spots from Mindy Kaling, Tan France and Chrissy Teigen, with installments centered on gardening, cooking and various lifestyle subjects.

Meanwhile, The Young And The Restless dominated the daytime drama category with 18 nominations, trailed by CBS' Beyond The Gates with 15 and General Hospital with 13.

Actress Drew Barrymore and singer Kelly Clarkson will compete for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series along with The View, Live With Kelly And Mark, Today with Jenna And Friends and 3rd Hour Of Today.
