Meghan Markle is being measured by a new Hollywood rating drop that tracks demand, not palace drama. The claim centers on IMDb’s weekly Starmeter ranking after the royal couple’s Netflix series ended. According to a new report, Markle and Harry slid down IMDb’s Starmeter rankings. The report tied the shift to their Hollywood career after Netflix did not renew their deal.

Express said Starmeter is built from multiple indications. It lists box office results, reviews, current projects, and search interest. The report noted that Meghan Markle was ranked 2,133rd in last week’s table, adding that she had previously topped Starmeter twice. Meanwhile, it said Prince Harry’s drop was sharper. It stated his peak was No. 12 in January 2023 after his memoir “Spare.” He was now listed at 36,600.
In addition, the publication quoted a “senior Tinseltown production source” on what the numbers mean. The source said, “That’s not a mistake or a misprint.” They added, “Harry’s right down there with the unknowns and also-rans.” The person argued that Meghan’s placement had buffers. They pointed to her online brand “As Ever.” The insider also cited a “brief revival” of “Suits.” They also referenced “With Love, Meghan,” saying Netflix canceled it “after two seasons.”

However, the outlet placed the biggest turning point five months back. It said the couple lost their big-money Netflix deal then. It also said the streaming giant chose not to renew the Archewell contract last September. The report valued it at about £74 million over the prior three years. It noted the deal produced the record-breaking documentary series “Harry & Meghan” in December 2022. Still, it said later projects did not match that hit.
Now, Express said its setup has shifted to a “first look” agreement. The report said they must pitch ideas and get paid only when projects are accepted. It also stated the couple spent two days in Jordan last week on a “quasi-royal” humanitarian trip. Then the source claimed the Duchess of Sussex has contacted WME and Netflix PR. They said it was to “fix” images and “boost” appeal. Still, the source noted, “you have to put in the work,” adding, “And they just aren’t doing that”.
