Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Jordan trip is drawing palace heat. A source reported on February 28, 2026, that “The Palace is livid.” The insider added, “It looks like a full-scale royal tour without the permission slip.”

The report said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew into Amman for two days. It described motorcades, hospital walkabouts, and a refugee camp visit. It also said they joined a World Health Organization roundtable after being invited.

Absolutely.” The Substack said they were greeted by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. It said they embraced diplomats and delivered remarks about regional peace.

However, the report wrote that the timing raised eyebrows inside the Royal family. For context, he noted Jordan is close to Prince William and Kate Middleton. He tied the trip to the ex-Prince Andrew crisis dominating headlines at home. He wrote the Sussexes were “out there playing global statesman and humanitarian-in-chief.” Another insider said, “This feels like kicking the family while they’re down.” The source added, “Andrew is a five-alarm fire, and the Sussexes just lit a match of their own.” Rob Shuter also wrote, “To be clear, Andrew is the bigger crisis.” He added, “Strategic? Oh, very.”

Still, the Substack stressed the Jordan trip was not an official Royal family tour. The piece added that they stepped down from royal duties in 2020. Even so, Rob Shuter wrote they remain “polished, poised and pointedly royal-adjacent.” For now, the “Suits” alum and the Duke of Sussex keep drawing comparisons whenever they go abroad.
