Marshals is back — and there are two new faces on the call sheet.
The second season of the CBS series premieres Oct. 4, picking up after a dramatic season 1 finale that left Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and his family in danger.
Season 2 will find Kayce trying to build a stable life with Tate (Brecken Merrill), while Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) balances his cancer diagnosis with leading the Marshals and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) faces new challenges to his leadership at Broken Rock.
The show’s main players are returning for season 2, including Ash Santos, Tatanka Means and Arielle Kebbel. Morgan Lindholm, who appeared in a supporting role as Cal’s estranged daughter, Maddie, will also return with an expanded role, per Deadline.
As for the newcomers, two actors are joining the cast — including one familiar face from Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone.
Here’s everything to know about the new characters in Marshals season 2.

Yellowstone star Jefferson White will reprise his role as Jimmy Hurdstrom in the CBS series. Jimmy and Kayce’s history goes back to their days on the Yellowstone ranch, where Jimmy learned the ropes as a cowboy before John Dutton (Kevin Costner) sent him to the historic Four Sixes Ranch in Texas to further hone his skills.
In September 2026, showrunner Spencer Hudnut revealed at a CBS press event that Jimmy will be “coming to East Camp,” bringing him back into Kayce’s orbit.
“We’re just trying to make the best show we can,” Grimes said of White joining Marshals. “Through those convos, Jimmy came up. It’s a character everybody loves so much. ... Personally, I really liked working with Jefferson.”
White is equally excited to reunite with his former costar and return to the Yellowstone universe.
“I’m thrilled to dive into the world of Marshals and continue exploring the American West,” White said in a statement. “The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I’m honored to join them.”
“Jimmy and I have been through a lot together,” he continued, “and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
Outside of the Sheridan universe, White has appeared on FX’s The Americans and ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, among other TV shows. The actor will soon appear as Harvey Lee Oswald in November 1963 and as Mr. McCoy in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
