Laura Ingalls Gunn (a cousin of Little House on the Prairie author Laura Ingalls Wilder and a historical presenter and seamstress) shared a photo in an Instagram post.
“The crossover of my dreams has come true!” Gunn wrote. “The amazing @meg_follows (forever my ANNE) made a suprise cameo on the new @lhprairie portraying my great great great grandmother, Laura Colby Ingalls, (Charles’ mother).”

The original book series Little House on the Prairie was published between 1932 and 1943, and was based on Wilder’s childhood as a pioneer and settler.
The original series aired and starred Michael Landon (Charles Ingalls), Karen Grassle (Caroline), Melissa Gilbert (Laura), Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary) and twins Sidney and Lindsay Greenbush (Carrie), and was primarily set in Walnut Grove.

The new Netflix series is not a reboot of the ‘70s classic but is instead grounded in the series of eponymous books, with its first season adapting 1935’s Little House on the Prairie, and following the Ingalls family’s journey to start a homestead just outside the town of Independence, Kan.
Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine recently spoke with PEOPLE about the upcoming revival of the franchise, explaining that the stories in the show will be “focused on people doing good works and being generous and kind to each other and building community.”
