Keri Russell called her 1990s series Felicity a “sweet little poem of a show” in a Netflix video

Russell played Felicity Porter, a graduate who moves to New York City for college

The show is now streaming on Netflix

Keri Russell says that Felicity, which began streaming on Netflix on Oct. 7, was the first show she acted in where she connected with the writing.

In a video shared to Instagram by the streaming platform, Russell, 50, said of the show: “It’s just such a sweet little poem of a show.”

“It was the beginning for me, in this whole industry,” she said, adding: “It’s really the first show I had that I thought was good writing, that I was a part of, that i was like, ‘Oh, that’s good.’”

Russell added of the show being streamed on Netflix: “And just for new and old fans, it’s just a sweet little something.”

Russell starred in the series from 1998 to 2002, playing Felicity Porter, a naive high school graduate who upends her life plan in order to follow her longtime crush, Ben Covington (played by Scott Speedman), to New York City for college, instead of attending Stanford University.

In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress shared that her daughter Willa recently discovered the show.

“My daughter about a year ago — she’s kind of mature for her age, and she was bored one day — I said, ‘Hey, Willa, I did this show about this college girl, and you might think it’s cool. It’s really sweet,’” Russell recalled.

She added: “And so I showed it to her. I put it on, and I downloaded an episode from Amazon or wherever you get it these days. After about 15 minutes, she turned it off and she went, ‘Ugh, mom, it’s so cringy.’”
