A Katy Perry fan — who can’t speak, write or read — still made sure her love for the pop star was known through some handmade artwork.
Duringa screening of Perry’s latest concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris, at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles on Aug. 26, the fan, Clara Woods, gifted the “Roar” singer a painted portrait of herself.
Woods’ brother, Davi Woods, introduced her to Perry, 41, explaining that she struggles with communication due to a perinatal stroke, which affects a fetus or newborn, and she uses art to speak and as a form of self-expression.

Perry, thrilled to receive the personalized art piece, told Woods, “This is amazing, this is so brilliant,” before she asked, “Can I put this in my office?”
The Grammy nominee also shared a sweet hug with Woods, highlighting that they have a shared bond over “the language of music.”

At the concert film screening event, Perry appeared during the final song, “Firework,” and kicked off a dance party in the cinema with others in attendance.
Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris is a 132-minute concert film that was captured across two sold-out nights in France.

Perry later sat down for a live Q&A with Billboard host Tetris Kelly to discuss the making of the film and the Lifetimes tour overall.
At the event, Perry also received a surprise cake to celebrate 16 years since the release of her album Teenage Dream, which features various songs from her iconic music catalogue, including “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “E.T.” and “California Gurls,” to name a few.

Speaking about the importance of engaging with her audience onstage, Perry said during the post-screening Q&A, “I feel like my fans feel equity. They feel seen. We have a dialogue that is both spoken and unspoken, and all it takes is just like a look in the eye.”
“I always look to lock eyes with people when I’m onstage, and sometimes I’ll catch someone, and they’ll just start crying. We’ll be locked in this incredible exchange for like 10, 15 seconds, and it’s so powerful,” she continued.
When it comes to the power of live music, Perry explained, “We can be so isolated in our own little echo chambers. And when you get into these places where you’re singing along with strangers right next to you, that’s very unique.”
Added Perry: “These concerts, these third spaces where we all gather around and join together as strangers, that’s some unique energy.”
Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris launches in theaters across 70 countries starting Sept. 2. There will also be exclusive one-night-only screenings in IMAX cinemas in the United States.
