Jujubee says starring in Stop! That! Train! with RuPaul felt like a full-circle moment from her childhood

The film features a star-studded cast of RuPaul's Drag Race alums and highlights LGBTQ+ representation in cinema

Jujubee hopes the movie inspires young LGBTQ+ viewers to embrace their dreams despite societal challenges

Jujubee says starring alongside RuPaul in Stop! That! Train! felt like a true full-circle moment for her.

During a recent panel conversation moderated by PEOPLE Senior Movies News Editor Nigel Smith at People Inc. in New York City, hosted by OUTspoken, the four-time RuPaul's Drag Race alum opened up about watching the finished film for the first time on the big screen — and how the experience brought her back to her childhood.

"I said [watching us] was kind of like being a kid," Jujubee said. "I felt like a kid when I left a child. Did anyone else feel like that?"

The campy disaster-comedy stars RuPaul's Drag Race favorites Ginger Minj, Jujubee, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Symone and more. The film follows two stewardesses racing to save a high-speed train when a massive storm threatens to cause the greatest train wreck in herstory.

Jujubee stars as DeeDee, a stewardess who leaves a mundane railway job for the glamorous Glamazonian Express, alongside her best friend and coworker Tess (Minj). When disaster strikes, the pair must join forces with none other than the President of the United States, played by RuPaul, to save the day.

For Jujubee, sharing the screen with RuPaul carried special significance.

"I felt like that 10-year-old boy that had gone to the movie theater in my little town to watch RuPaul in The Brady Bunch Movie," she said.

RuPaul famously played Mrs. Cummings, Jan Brady's high school guidance counselor, in both The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) and A Very Brady Sequel (1996).

She added that what made the moment even more meaningful was the opportunity to inspire a new generation of LGBTQ+ viewers.

"I felt so proud of us because I felt like we get to be that for this next generation," Jujubee explained. "There's going to be people out there, kids that are watching this and going, 'Okay, there is a place for me and I can grow up and do all these things I want to do even if what they tell me is wrong or different or whatever."

The drag superstar also mentioned how being a part of the cast came with a sense of responsibility.

"I felt really proud of all of us," she said. "It felt like a lot of responsibility in the best way possible," said Jujubee.

Stop! That! Train! arrives in theaters June 12.
