Jodie Foster is pondering if Brad Pitt's movie F1 was made with assistance from AI.
Foster, 63, spoke at the “Who Owns the Future of Hollywood?” panel alongside former Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton at the Aspen Ideas Festival on Tuesday, June 30. The discussion covered the changing relationship between film and evolving technology, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
While on the panel, Foster shared her thoughts on F1 and told the audience, "I don't say this disparagingly. How could I? This movie went on to make millions of dollars."
"But I look at a movie like F1, and I'm like, F1 was made by AI,” Foster added.
“Wasn't it?" she continued. "I mean, the structure was exactly the structure that you would learn in school. The actors say the lines exactly the way it would be written if a computer was writing exactly what would be the right thing for that time."
"And they were able to dominate the technology to make something big and beautiful and potentially where a lot of the information comes from other places," Foster added.

F1, which hit theaters in 2025 and made its global streaming debut on Apple TV in December 2025, followed Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a fictional Formula 1 driver whose life was derailed three decades prior by a life-threatening accident on the track, and his return to racing.

The Joseph Kosinski-directed film also starred Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon.
Kosinski opened up to PEOPLE exclusively in October 2025 about a potential sequel at a special screening of the film held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
"Based on the reception of the film, I would love to see what adventures Sonny Hayes is going on to next, and I think the audience would too," Kosinski told PEOPLE. "So we're actually gonna start talking about that very soon, start kind of coming up with, 'What could that next chapter of his story be?'"
