**This article contains spoilers for *The Summer I Turned Pretty* season 3, episode 5, "Last Dance."**

*The Summer I Turned Pretty *fans have become professional sleuths as they investigate theories, hunt for clues, and spot Easter eggs throughout the final season. But among all the TikTok videos and social media posts from fans unpacking the use of red and blue, (lack of) Taylor Swift needle drops, and props in the background, there's one Easter egg that no one has noticed...

Creator Jenny Han's cameo in episode 5!

"I do make a cameo in this episode," Han tells **. "It's just my voice. The reason why I'm even saying it now is because I don't think anyone's going to pick up on it, it's like the tiniest thing, but it made me laugh."

The author/showrunner/director has now appeared on the show every season: at the debutante ball in the season 1 finale and walking out of the liquor store in season 2. While she won't reveal where her ADR cameo falls in episode 5, "Last Dance," she says that all her appearances have been fun.

"This one's just a tiny little thing," Han adds. "I don't think anyone's going to know it's me. It's almost impossible, honestly."

While Han doesn't believe anyone will find this particular Easter egg, she's not surprised that fans notice almost everything else on the show.

"People are always picking up on stuff," she says. "There's definitely some that people have not picked up on, which I wouldn't discuss until after everything's out, and then you could look carefully for some of those little breadcrumbs."

But she also reveals that some fan theories about Easter eggs are actually wrong. "I saw something today that was not true," Han says. "There's definitely intentional things, and then there's also things that were not [intentional]."

That said, she believes that all fan theories are valid on some level, because it's all open to interpretation.

"I feel very flattered that people spend time thinking about what we made and giving it that level of attention and time in their own lives," Han says. "It's a privilege that people care enough to come up with their own theories about things. People should be able to look at the work and come up with their own opinions on it that are separate from me, in terms of being the creator. Those [theories] are all valid, and whatever you take away is what you're taking away from it. So even if it may not have been intentional, I think that there's validity."

What was intentional in this week's episode was every single reference and Easter egg to the first season's Fourth of July episode — including Conrad (Christopher Briney) watching Belly (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) on the dock (but notably *not* launching a firework at them like Jeremiah did to him and Belly previously).

"There are a lot of callbacks to that Fourth of July in this episode," Han says. "One being that the bathing suit she's wearing at the top of the episode is the same one that she wears on the Fourth of July all those years before. And we obviously have fireworks going. There are a lot of echoes of Fourth of July's past throughout the episode."

*The Summer I Turned Pretty *debuts new episodes on Wednesdays on Prime Video.
