Tobias Forge is ready to spend time with his family.

The frontman of the Swedish rock band Ghost revealed during an appearance on the Full Metal Jackie radio show on Friday, Feb. 22 that he’s ready to take a break from the band because he “needs to be home” with his kids.

Forge, 41, who shares two kids Morris and Minou with his wife Boel, said in the interview, “I’ve had two kids waiting at home with my wife for 15 years, and maybe that says something about me that it wasn’t a pushing enough factor during those years.”

“Believe me, I have felt bad. But I’ve definitely come to a point where I feel, physically and mentally, a need to be home. Simply because they’re 17, they’re not gonna be around for an eon,” he continued.

Forge also spoke about how the break will help him decide the future of the band.

“The only way for me to come up with a new idea and get some new inspiration is to just step away. It is as simple as that. But it doesn’t mean that I’m not doing anything. I have two film projects that I’m working on,” he said.

Ghost wrapped its Skeletour World Tour with a final stop on Monday, Feb. 23 in Inglewood, Calif.

The band canceled its tour stops in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee in January due to inclement weather.

“Please heed caution and stay safe,” they wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

The tour was in support of Ghost’s sixth studio album, Skeletá, released in 2025.

Forge spoke about being a father in a 2022 interview with Alternative Press when asked how he would support his kids following in his footsteps.

“As a father, my heart is always going to be super supportive,” he said at the time. “For some reason, when actors have kids, [the kids] miraculously become really good actors, too. But in music, it’s almost always, always, always the opposite. It’s almost like a curse, in fact.”
