President Donald Trump is up to his usual Truth Social antics again after posting a video of himself kicking down a sign reading Lake Ontario two days after announcing the body of water's new name.
The video also features the president planting another sign bearing the legend "Lake of America" with the U.S. flag on it before dancing to his beloved "YMCA" and breaking out into a dance. The president posted the video as the trade war with Canada — which prompted the name change — continues to spiral further.
On Thursday, the president announced that the body of water, bounded to the north, west, and southwest by Ontario, and to the south and east by New York, would be renamed as part of his quest to assert American dominance. "This is official," said Trump, after signing an executive order.

"We filed all the necessary papers and documents, and notified all the people we had to notify," Trump added. Earlier in the week, the president had teased the name change.

"The United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America," Trump wrote on Truth Social. He added, "because we don’t expect to be doing much business with Ontario any longer."
Trump's video comes as the trade war with Canada continues to spiral
Trade dispute between the two nations escalated over the weekend as talks broke down. Not content with a gulf and a lake, the president seemed to be ready to change the name of other bodies of water.

"The lake change, the Lake of America, was something I've been thinking about for a long time, actually," the president said to reporters in the Oval Office. "As you know, we took something called the Gulf of Mexico, we changed it, and now it's very routinely the Gulf of America."
Trump's video included him dacing to the YMCA
"So, if you think about it, we have a Gulf and we have a lake," he added. "Now, all we need is an ocean."
"So, maybe we'll have to change the name of the Atlantic and or the Pacific," he added, amusing himself. "Maybe we will change them both."
Trump's name change came less than a week after he teased it
Trump does not have the power to officially change the names of either ocean. While the U.S. controls roughly 12 miles of sea in either direction, the president does not have the power to rename the seas or force any other country to acknowledge a change, as global maritime naming standards are typically set by the International Hydrographic Organization.
Now, there is a chance the president could sign an executive order directing the U.S. Board on Geographic Names and the Department of the Interior to recognize the name. This would then require all federally produced maps, military charts, educational materials, and federal documentation to reflect the change.
