Political commentator, TV news anchor, author, and podcaster Chris Hayes appeared in a pink tank top and a 7mm Cuban-link gold chain in a recent episode of Alex Wagner’s Pod Save America titled “Did Progressives Just Find a Way to Beat MAGA?”

His casual look is now earning wild and amusing reactions. For instance, Threads user @colin_bites took a close-up screenshot of Hayes and wrote:

Chris Hayes: Life and career

Chris Hayes, whose full name is Christopher Loffredo Hayes, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York City. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Brown University in 2001.

Today, he is known for hosting the two-time Emmy-winning weekday news and opinion show All in with Chris Hayes and the weekly podcast Why Is This Happening? on MS NOW. He is also a contributing writer turned editor-at-large of The Nation magazine.

Earlier, Hayes anchored a weekend show on MSNBC called Up with Chris Hayes and worked in Chicago print media, including at In These Times and Chicago Reader. In April, he was seen as himself in the fifth season premiere of Amazon Prime’s superhero series The Boys.

He is a frequent guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers and previously guest-hosted a few MSNBC shows, including The Rachel Maddow Show, The Ed Show, The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, and Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

Chris has been married to Katherine Ann Shaw since 2007 and has three children. Shaw is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She also contributes to ABC News and co-hosts the Strict Scrutiny podcast.

Hayes and Wagner joined MSNBC in the early 2000s and grew up the ladder, including collaborating on each other’s projects. On the August 9 episode of Pod Save America, the duo spoke about what Democrats should take away from their primary win in Michigan and how their reaction would determine not only the midterm results but also the 2028 presidential election.
