The cause of death has been revealed for *So You Think You Can Dance* winner Joshua Allen.

The season 4 champion of the reality TV dance competition died on Sept. 30, 2025, and Allen's death has been ruled a suicide, caused by blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was 36.

*TMZ* previously reported that Allen passed away after being struck by a train in Fort Worth, Texas. In November, ** confirmed that police were called to Allen's funeral after a clash between attendees.

Allen was only 18 years old when he was crowned the winner of *So You Think You Can Dance *in 2008, before he later returned to the series as an all-star.

"This was one of the hardest seasons by far," he told EW after his victory. "Our focus, our determination was so for real that…it was crazy! And we got through it! We all rose to the occasion."

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Joshua Allen, winner of Season 4 of *So You Think You Can Dance* and a gifted performer whose talent left a lasting impact on the dance community," Fox and Dick Clark Productions, which produced *So You Think You Can Dance*, said in a statement at the time of his death. "Joshua’s powerful artistry, charisma, and authenticity captured the hearts of millions and helped elevate the profile of dance on television. His contributions to the art form will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with Joshua’s family, loved ones, and fans during this difficult time."
