Barbie Ferreira was not afraid to point out a photo-editing fail after her appearance at the Faces of Death premiere on April 6
On April 14, the actress took to her Instagram Stories to debunk what was clearly an edited photo of her
Ferreira recently spoke to PEOPLE about her new film and how she related to her character Margot's "desperate need to fix a broken world that you can't do yourself"
Barbie Ferreira is setting the record straight.
The 29-year-old actress recently came across what appeared to be an edited image of her at the April 6 Faces of Death premiere, and by her reaction, it didn't make her happy. On April 14, she reshared the retouched image, which seemed to edit the appearance of her cheekbones, to her Instagram Stories, writing, "Who tf is this?"
To add more context to the photo and to show just how edited it had been, the Euphoria star then posted a professional red carpet picture of what she really looked like that night, writing, "The picture in question."

In her new movie, Ferreira plays Margot, a content moderator who stumbles upon what she believes are snuff re-creations of the deaths featured in the titular 1978 mondo flick. And in her interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that she found the character relatable for several reasons — one of them being her “fear of being perceived.”
She explained that the “fear of being perceived, despite my entire life being focused on being perceived,” was “really relatable to me.”

But the thing she found “most relatable” about Margot, Ferreira said, is the character's "desperate need to fix a broken world that you can't do yourself, but having this incredible calling and purpose to try to fix things that are completely unfixable.”
Ferreira went on to say that it's easy for her to feel "bombarded with all of these horrible things all day, all over the world, on the internet. And you feel very hopeless and you feel like you can't do anything."

She has proven not to put up with scrutiny, though. In 2022, she called out "backhanded compliments" about her body in a WhoWhatWear interview in which she talked about her similar experiences to those had by her Euphoria character Kat. "It's not radical for me to be wearing a crop top," she said.
