According to ABC and Disney, Season 10 will begin with an "earth-shattering emergency" as newly appointed Detective Athena Grant tries to adjust to the role. Her daughter, May, also gets a new job and works on her confidence.

Among this season’s disasters is a volcanic eruption that leaves some citizens trapped, a Season 10 trailer showed.

"I'm trapped in a river of lava," one character says frantically in the trailer, calling for help from a car.

As first responders combat one disaster, they must make sure they don’t neglect the rest of the city.

"Unfortunately, LA has no protocol for a volcano," Dispatcher Maddie Han says in the trailer.
