Not every rock band is lucky enough to have their first ever single become an instant hit, but that's what happened when Asia released "Heat of the Moment" in 1982. Hugely popular on MTV and the radio, the song launched the prog-rock supergroup to iconic status...and decades later, fans are still listening.
As Prog reported, Asia is teaming up with fellow legends Rick Wakeman and Steve Hackett (in addition to members of Focus, Caravan, and other artists) for a cruise along the Rhine in July 2026.
East Sussex venue and shop Trading Boundaries is hosting the musical journey, which consists of two cruises running on consecutive weeks: July 11-18, from Basel to Amsterdam in Switzerland, and July 18-25, returning from Amsterdam to Basel. Passengers will be transported on the river ship Emerald Astra.

Since all performances will be acoustic, fans will get a chance to hear their favorite songs in an all-new way. The "Acoustic Asia" line-up features Geoff Downes, John Mitchell and Harry Whitley performing as a trio, without a drummer.
The waterborne getaway will be notable for more than just music, as the boat also features an art gallery, cinema, swimming pool, luxury rooms and more.

According to the Trading Boundaries website, the "journey extends beyond the ship with stop overs in world class cities & romantic towns along the route, featuring curated artistic excursions and an exclusive concert in one of Europe’s vibrant cities, ensuring a culturally immersive experience."
Last month, Asia announced their upcoming live album, Asia — Live in England, scheduled for release on March 13, 2026, after signing a new deal with Frontiers Music Srl in 2025.
