They say “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” and that statement couldn’t be more true for Madonna and her eldest daughter, Lourdes “Lola” Leon.
The “Material Girl” singer welcomed her mini-me on Oct. 14, 1996, with then-boyfriend Carlos Leon. And while Lourdes spent most of her early years away from the spotlight, she began stepping out in her teens, attending red carpet events with her mom and collaborating with her on several projects.
Lourdes has since walked runways at various fashion weeks, launched her own music career under the moniker Lolahol, and has created some buzz-worthy red carpet moments of her own. And despite their similarities, Madonna revealed that Lourdes is insistent on forging her own path.
“She’s been very reticent to work with me,” the Grammy winner, who worked with Lourdes on her Confessions II album, told Graham Norton in June. “She doesn’t want to be perceived as my daughter taking advantage of her privilege.”

It’s all in the smile. Fifteen-year-old Lourdes Leon was Madonna’s carbon copy as she showed off her wide smile, similar to her mom’s, while at the casting call for their clothing brand, Material Girl, in 2011.

Madonna was never apologetic for pushing the envelope, and it seems Lourdes has inherited the same trait. For her appearance at the Saint Laurent Menswear Fall /Winter 2025-2026 runway show, the singer showed up wearing a strapless, nipple-baring lace catsuit on top of a black thong. The ‘fit was reminiscent of Madonna’s equally revealing strappy thong bodysuit by Givenchy, which she wore to the 2016 Met Gala.

Back in 2014, Madonna shared a selfie of her unshaven armpit, writing, “Long hair…… Don’t Care!!!!!!” In 2021, her daughter boldly carried on the message, showing off her body hair while attending the Met Gala.
