TSM's net income jumped 77% in Q2, yet shares sit 15% below their all-time high at just 23x forward earnings.
With a PEG ratio of 0.95, TSM looks cheap for a monopoly on leading-edge silicon compounding earnings at 77% annually.
Hitting $550 requires 2nm pricing power through 2027, relentless AI hyperscaler demand, and Q3 margins landing at the top of the 65%-67% guide.

Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE:TSM) posted Q2 2026 revenue of $40.20 billion, up 36% year over year, with net income jumping 77.41%. Advanced nodes at 7nm and below now generate 77% of wafer revenue, and the 2nm node just made its commercial debut.
Yet the stock trades at $405.32, well off its $479 high. Can shares reach $550 in 2027?
TSM Price Target — 24/7 Wall St.Why TSM Shares Have Stalled Despite a Blowout Q2
Even after that earnings report, TSM is down 15.55% over the past month and off 2.95% in the past week. The year-to-date gain of 33.38% is impressive, but shares peaked in late June and have not recovered.
The pullback reflects two factors. First, a broader chip-stock rotation. Reddit discussion around the earnings response captured the mood: "TSMC profit jumped 77% and still stock is down 4-5%" was the top framing on r/stockmarket.
Second, Q3 guidance implies gross margin compression to 65% to 67% as 2nm ramp costs bite. With a beta of 1.246, the stock swings harder than the market in both directions.
Wall Street Sees 33% Upside. My Model Says 27%
Analyst consensus sits at $540.20, backed by 5 Strong Buy, 12 Buy, and 2 Hold ratings. Zero sell calls. My base case is $515.64, implying 27.22% upside, with a bull scenario of $535.91 and a bear at $420.80. Confidence: 90%.

With 89% of analysts bullish and quarterly earnings growth of 77.4% year over year, consensus may be too conservative. Every model I run underweights how fast 2nm can compound into 2027.
TSM Analyst Ratings — 24/7 Wall St.The Path to $550 Per Share
Reaching $550 from today's price of $405.32 would require a gain of 35.7%.

With forward EPS of $17.32, a price of $550 implies a forward P/E of 32x. My base case of $515.64 already implies 29x, meaning the bold target requires roughly 3x of additional multiple expansion.
Full-year 2026 revenue is now guided slightly above 40% in USD, a sharp raise from the roughly 30% guide in January. The A13 technology debut at the North America Technology Symposium and the Sony Semiconductor Solutions partnership extend the roadmap.
If forward EPS continues compounding at the current pace, today's 32x forward multiple will look like tomorrow's 23x. Retail investors already flagged the $100 billion U.S. manufacturing commitment as a structural tailwind. The primary risk is a geopolitical shock across the Taiwan Strait.
TSM Price Scenario — 24/7 Wall St.Where TSM Trades Today vs Its Earnings Power
At $405.32, TSM trades at roughly 23x forward earnings on $17.32 in forward EPS. For a business compounding earnings at 77.4% YoY with a PEG ratio of 0.952, that looks cheap.
Shares sit 13% below the 52-week high of $479 and well above the $221.66 low. Ten-year holders are up 1,659.73%. This is a monopoly on leading-edge silicon priced like a normal-growth chip stock.
Is $550 Realistic? My Verdict
Reaching $550 requires a 35.7% gain from today, driven by roughly 3x of forward multiple expansion on top of a $515.64 base case. This is a stretch, but a reasonable one.
Three things need to go right: the 2nm ramp must hold pricing power through 2027, HPC demand from AI hyperscalers must remain relentless, and Q3 gross margins must land at the high end of the 65%-67% guide. A Taiwan Strait geopolitical shock would derail it. We've outlined the blueprint for how Taiwan Semiconductor could reach $550 in 2027.
